Goldman Sachs Closes Transactions with Sumitomo Mitsui

NEW YORK – The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE: GS) announced today that it has closed a series of related transactions with the Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. These transactions were originally announced on January 15, 2003.
