In this episode of Talks at GS, Best Buy CEO Corie Barry discusses leading the consumer electronics retailer through COVID-19, and how it has led to a transformation of the retail environment and the customer’s experience.

On the transformation of the retail environment: “Even before the pandemic, we saw a customer who was moving faster to digital experiences, in particular, than we were even moving… So, we need to gear toward a customer who is going to expect convenience and speed at rates never before seen.”

On changes to the customer’s expectations: “I get a one-on-one experience in a Best Buy or I get a one-on-one experience in my home and it's very carefully done and tailored to me. I do think when you want them, concierge services are going to be really important on the flip side of this and there will be room for especially the specialty retailers that can offer some of those more personalized and concierge type services.”
