Chris Hughes on Founding Facebook and Fighting Inequality
Chris Hughes discusses the future of Facebook and how co-founding the social media company helped shape his thinking on income inequality and the idea of a guaranteed income.
Hughes on the future of Facebook: “The question is whether or not Mark [Zuckerberg] and the whole leadership team are going to take a proactive kind of approach... to say okay, here are these major structural problems that have existed for a while and that are not going to go away and how are we going to be a part of a conversation with political leaders, civil society leaders, and everyday people to chart a different course for it.”
Hughes on his approach to fighting inequality: “The reason that I became an advocate for a guaranteed income is ultimately because of the effectiveness and the efficiency of the solution.”
