Expo Introduces Interns to Engineering at Goldman Sachs

04 AUG 2016

On June 29, Goldman Sachs welcomed interns and analysts to the fourth annual engineering expo at our Jersey City office. The expo gave interns an in-depth look at the breadth of technologies across the firm’s Engineering teams. Each affinity network and business unit within Engineering displayed their projects through interactive demos and talked about their work at the firm.

The event marked an opportunity for interns to explore the spectrum of work happening outside of their specific teams. “It’s good to be able to have the opportunity to learn about various business units because you don’t always get to do that when you’re at your desk,” commented Logan, an associate on the Enterprise Platforms team in London.

Interns at Goldman Sachs have the chance to work on their own projects throughout the summer and make an impact on the firm. “At Goldman Sachs, you get a lot of responsibility even as an intern. You get to work on really cool technologies, and you actually get to see what happens to your products when you’re done,” said Alex, former intern and analyst in Operations Technology.

That sentiment proved to be true as professionals of all levels and interns connected about their work. As Sandra, an intern in Private Wealth Management Technology, put it, “There is a lot of opportunity here. If you’re interested in something, there’s a place for you to find your passions and do what you want to do.”
